{We're In!}

Things have been crazy busy lately with the move and only about 3 weeks to go until baby is here!!! We are SO excited to meet our little one and welcome him/her to our amazing new home! We are IN LOVE with this house. It is so perfect for growing a family in.

Last night, Matt and I walked around our new property and he shared all his dreams of where he would keep chickens, steers, and sheep:)

He's so excited and constantly busy outside and loving it! He grew up on a dairy farm but now works full time in an office so it's so wonderful to see him at his roots again:) He has been a fabulous help to me in these final weeks of pregnancy!!! I do not know what I would do without such an awesome husband! I am majorly blessed <3. I will randomly find him doing laundry for me and hanging shelves, fixing my car, and making me a salad. He takes such great care of me and I can't wait to see his spectacular-ness in daddyhood! He's gonna rock!

The moving process was not so stressful for me...even packing wasn't bad because we don't have a whole lot yet since we are just starting out. The unpacking was what got me! Where to put this, what to do with that and being on my feet all day was killer! Luckily, we are blessed with an oversized bathtub with whirlpool jets - what a relief at the end of each day! Needless to say, I will be spending lots of time there in early labor!

{Slipcovers}

In an attempt to save lots of money, we are trying our best to not buy new furniture. I'm finding it a lot more satisfying to find great deals at garage sales, Craigslist and freebees from fam and friends. We have quite a few diy projects we are working on. One I have been researching is slipcovers. I found this incredibly helpful blog! Pink and Polka Dot is a slipcover queen. I found her through this blog post from The Nester. Another super cute blog!

These look so fresh and clean and shabby chic! I LOVE white, but I'm also considering buying my cotton duck in a muted yellow.

I'm seriously thinking about purchasing the Ebook for $10. Lazy Girl's Guide to Making a Slipcover:) I like the name alone!

There are so many helpful hints on Pink and Polka Dot. Pictures, comments, etc. I am inspired!

Here is an easy tutorial for covering a chair.

I'm super excited to start my own!

{Capturing Your Wedding} forever

This week has rocked! There's so much going on and it's been quite a ride. The wedding show with Erika's Expressions Photography was amazing! We had a blast and we make an excellent team. Erika and I first met when we chose her as our wedding photographer. I fell in love with her work and she loved mine as well, so we are partnering up! She has commissioned me to design her wedding photo albums. These books are out of this world! Here is the one I designed of our wedding.

Check out more pics on facebook
These press art photo albums are to die for! Top of the line, professional and exquisite quality. The cover is available in either gallery canvas or leather. The super-durable, super-thick pages in either linen or watercolor. The album pages do not fingerprint and lay completely flat in panoramic spreads. No gutter! Optional sizes. I LOVE this book! Purchase yours here.

I highly recommend Erika for your wedding photography. However, these albums are available to everyone. They are customly designed to be a reflection of the couple for years and years to come. These albums are not limited to weddings only. These are amazing for any event or purpose!

{anything!}

Here are a few shots Erika captured from our wedding.

This girl goes above and beyond! She is willing to travel so if even if she's not in your area, talk to her anyways! She also does destination weddings. Erika does it all! She's also brilliant with family portraits, high school seniors, children, newborns and maternity. Natural style portraiture using mainly natural light. Check her out!

{Handy Coffee Lovers Gadgets}

I love coffee. It's a big part of my life. My husband proposed to me in a coffee shop, for crying out loud! Coffee just makes me happy. It smells good, tastes good, and looks so pretty in coffee mugs. Hot or cold, frills or plain, it's just wonderful. I love all the varieties of ways to make a cup of joe too. The options are endless.

Two little nifty items we received from our wedding is the Mr. Coffee Espresso Maker and Cooks Power Blender with attachments. I love these items and they get used a lot around our home:)

Mr. Coffee Espresso Maker

 My bridesmaids purchased this for me and I am addicted to it! I use it all the time. I takes a little learning, but once you get the hang of it, it's really easy and makes an uber delish cappuccino, latte, or frap. You can find it at Amazon for under $40.

Cooks Power Blender

This item is so awesome for blending up smoothies, or my favorite, frappuccinos! You can find it at JCPenny on sale right now for about $30.
I use this several times per week and it rocks! So easy to use and cleanup is a breeze. Yesterday, a friend came over for lunch and I made Black Raspberry Chip fraps using this. They were wonderful! I just wing it but you can hardly mess this up. The recipe goes something like this:

Black Raspberry Chip Frappuccino {1 serving}
1/3 C espresso
1 C Breyers Black Raspberry Chocolate Ice Cream
2 - 3 ice cubes
1/8 C Milk
Whipped Topping
Chocolate Syrup

Prepare espresso in espresso machine. Combine espresso, ice cream, ice cubes, and milk in blender. Top with whipped topping and syrup drizzle. Sip and enjoy!

Cuisinart DCC-1200 12-Cup Brew Central Coffeemaker

This is the next item on my list of wishes:) I currently own a bare bones Black&Decker. You can find it at Amazon for under $70.
  • Retro-style, black-chrome coffeemaker brews 12 5-ounce cups
  • 24-hour clock/timer for wake-up coffee; brew-pause; programmable shut-off
  • 1-to-4- or 5-to-12-cup brewing options provide maximum flavor; Gold Tone filter
  • Charcoal water filter; decalcification indicator; heat-adjustable warming plate

{Kari Jobe}

So now that I am at home, I can listen to whatever music I want and as loud as I want, lol. This is a major perk for me because I really got so sick of listening to the exact.same.radio.station.every.single.day at work! To top it off, it was one of those that replays the same songs over and over and over again.

Anyway, I love all kinds of music. Christian genres get me the most. I go for all types...rock, contemporary, indie, etc. Right now, I have found that Kari Jobe is great and peaceful to work to. Her music is so inspiring and she has a beautiful voice. Her website is super adorable too! Check her out.

I love hearing about new music. What tunes get you through your day?

{Drawing}

I have such a love for drawing, so I always enjoy the motivation to actually do it when I get a request for one! A good family friend asked me to draw this portrait of their daughter and her fiance for their upcoming southern wedding in May. They are a beautiful couple so it was so fun to capture that.

You can view more samples of artwork at my Etsy shop.

I must say, staying at home is magical! I adore it. I have never been so motivated to get up in the morning. Some mornings, I get so excited to start the day, I can't even make myself sleep in, lol! This is t o t a l l y new for me:) It's amazing to have the opportunity to work toward my own personal goals and agenda {God's too, I hope}. I LOVE what I do! I think the husband is really enjoying me running some of his errands for him and having dinner ready {or close} when he arrives home. He really likes his food:)
